Lead Environmental Scientist
For more than 20 years, Bryan has provided guidance and leadership in environmental management and conservation. Completing his Bachelor of Applied Environmental Science at the University of South Australia, Bryan worked with the University’s Environmental Consultancy to develop environmentally sensitive urban and industrial landscape designs and the South Australia Museum to complete remote Biological and Cultural and Heritage surveys. He went on to teach Conservation and Land Management, Horticulture and Animal Studies generating kinesthetic learning experiences including extensive field investigations in collaboration with Regulatory Authorities and private enterprise.
Entering the private sector, Bryan consulted to clients such as Coliban Water, Parks Victoria, VicRoads, CPB Construction, Leed Engineering and a number of Victorian Councils to ameliorate environmental harm, increase natural capital and implement robust reinstatement techniques. During this time, Bryan built his knowledge base and experience in coordinating burn plans for natural regeneration projects in consultation with local authorities and interest groups. Bryan gained extensive experience working with construction companies to manage sensitive environmental challenges before joining John Holland to commission and lead the environmental planning and compliance for the West Gate Tunnel Project in Victoria; until he started with Active in 2020.
Bryan brings exceptional value to the consulting table founded on his belief that solutions must be holistic and contextual, based on planning that is well informed and started early. His strong natural leadership and deep experience in the worlds of public and private enterprise alongside this belief and management discipline helps ensure the successful execution of projects for Active clients.
